What will I learn?

We teach you how to become a professional wrestler.

The basics

We will start you off with the basics of wrestling before inviting you to take part in the advanced classes. The advanced classes take a more detailed look at wrestling.

We’ll train you in how to deliver an excellent match. From working crowds to helping you develop your character, selecting the best gear and understanding the match psychology.

A good chunk of your time at Reckless Intent will be fitness training. We like going for runs, doing drills and weight lifting.

Wrestling can be dangerous, there’s no escaping it. When you work with someone in the ring, you have a responsibility to make sure what you do is safe for you, for everyone else in the ring, and for the crowd.

What do we look for?

We’re looking for people who want to learn the art of professional wrestling. You need to have the patience to allow yourself to develop, and have the drive to get in shape. You do not need to be in perfect shape at the get-go, we’ve helped people transform themselves. It’s not easy, but it’s absolutely worth the effort.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is the minimum age for adult classes?
A: You need to be 16 or over to take part in our main wrestling training. If you are under 16, please see our junior class.

Q: Does wrestling hurt?
A: Yes, but with training and confidence, you’ll learn to manage it.

Q: How long before I appear on a show?
A: It’s all down to how well you perform in training. We want trainees to show us their interest and passion, and demonstrate their experience.

Q: I don’t want to appear on a show, is that okay?
A: Of course, we have some trainees that only want to do the training as a way of keeping fit.

Is it for me?

Wrestling is a physically and mentally demanding sport. You will be encouraged to push your limits.

If you are prepared to put in the time and effort, potentially make some dietary/lifestyle changes, you will thrive in wrestling. It’s a great way to get fit, and keep fit.

The no-bs reality

If you don’t like feeling sore the morning after training, and are not prepared to get used to it – wrestling isn’t for you.  If you’re not prepared to put the time and effort into becoming the best you can be – wrestling isn’t for you.  If you want to become the best you can be, push your limits and perform in front of large crowds – wrestling IS for you.

A policy of inclusion

The Pro Wrestling School is an inclusive environment, and we want pro-wrestling to be open to as many people as possible.

Alcohol and drugs policy

Reckless Intent has a zero tolerance for drug use and possession. What you do in your own time is your business, but when you step on our premises, you will leave it behind until you step off again. If you are caught with or under the influence of any substances (including alcohol), you’ll be dismissed immediately.

We request that any medical requirements are disclosed prior to starting your training.
